FAQ’s

  1. Can I use any type of coffee for this recipe?
    • Yes, you can use any type of coffee you prefer, such as espresso, brewed coffee, instant espresso or cold brew.
  2. Can I use other sweeteners instead of maple syrup?
    • Yes, you can substitute maple syrup with other sweeteners like honey, agave nectar, or simple syrup. I buy my maple syrup from a local source, and something I’ve noticed is that the sweetness varies from batch to batch. So definitely experiment and adjust to your preference. I prefer mine sweeter but my husband is good with one tbs of maple syrup in his.
  3. Can I use dairy-free milk alternatives?
    • Absolutely! You can use almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, or any other milk alternative you prefer.
  4. Do I need to use ice cubes or can I chill the coffee beforehand?
    • You can chill the coffee beforehand in the refrigerator, but adding ice cubes directly to the drink will help keep it cold without diluting the flavor.
  5. Can I make a large batch of this drink in advance?
    • Yes, you can prepare a larger quantity of the coffee mixture and maple syrup mixture in advance and store them in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, simply mix with milk and ice.
  6. Can I customize the strength of the coffee?
    • Yes, you can adjust the strength of the coffee by using more or less coffee in the recipe according to your preference.
  7. How long does the maple syrup latte stay fresh?
    • It’s best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir well before serving.
  8. Can I add flavors like vanilla or cinnamon?
    • Yes, you can add additional flavors like vanilla extract or ground cinnamon to enhance the taste of your maple syrup latte.
  9. Is this drink suitable for hot weather?
    • Yes, this iced maple syrup latte is perfect for hot weather and makes a refreshing alternative to hot coffee during the warmer time of year.

Notes:

I put the ounces of coffee you need in the ingredients list because not everyone has fancy equipment at home, like an espresso machine. I can’t pretend it yields the same deliciousness but it works. An espresso machine puts out the richest smoothest cup of java, once you have one you could never go back. I have a Saeco professional version but it’s not available anymore. A couple people in my family have this one, it’s wonderful. I get to enjoy a cup of coffee from it pretty often.

Wow — this iced maple syrup latte is the perfect next-level home coffee treat! I love how you used real maple syrup and heavy cream for that rich, smooth flavor — it feels so cozy and luxurious. The tip about stirring the syrup into the hot espresso before pouring over ice is especially smart — I can already imagine how that stops the ice from melting so much and keeps the flavor bold.

I tried your suggestion to use strong brewed coffee (since I don’t have an espresso machine) and found that while the texture is slightly different, the taste was still delicious — so thanks for providing that option for coffee-lovers without fancy equipment!

One question I had: have you ever tried adding a drop of vanilla extract or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top (you did mention it in your FAQ) and found it enhances the maple and espresso combo? I’m going to try that next and will update here.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I’ll definitely be bookmarking it and making it again — and probably sharing with friends who are always asking for “coffee shop at home” recipes.

Tip for readers: if you’re using a dairy-free milk, I found that oat milk gives the best creamy texture without hiding the maple flavor.
