I could make it with my eyes closed already, but whenever I post a pic of my almost daily dose of it on Instagram, I get asked how this coffee shop drink at home. Ingredients for the maple Latte Recipe:

  • 2 espresso shots (5oz very strong coffee)
  • ¼ cup of milk of choice (I use whole milk)
  • 2 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp real maple syrup
  • ice cubes
  • fancy cup 😉 non-optional haha.

Instructions:

  1. Make your shots of espresso whichever way you're used to. An espresso maker is best, but you can use a French Press and strong brewed coffee too.
  2. Mix maple syrup with the espresso while it's still hot.
  3. Pour over ice, then add the cold milk and cream.

FAQ's

Can I use any type of coffee?

Yes—use whatever you like! Brewed coffee, espresso, cold brew, or even instant espresso all work well here.

Can I use a different sweetener instead of maple syrup?

You can swap it for honey, agave, or simple syrup. Sweetness can vary (especially with maple syrup), so adjust to your taste.

Can I make this dairy-free?

Absolutely. Almond, oat, soy, or any other milk alternative will work great.

Do I have to use ice, or can I chill the coffee first?

You can do either. Chilling the coffee ahead of time works well, but adding ice keeps the drink extra cold and refreshing.

Can I make a bigger batch ahead of time?

Yes—brew the coffee and mix in the sweetener, then store it in the fridge. Just add milk and ice when you’re ready to serve.

Can I adjust the coffee strength?

Definitely. Use more or less coffee depending on how strong you like it.

How long does it keep?

It’s best fresh, but you can store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Give it a quick stir before drinking.

Can I add extra flavors?

Yes! A splash of vanilla or a sprinkle of cinnamon is a great way to switch things up.

Notes:

I put the ounces of coffee you need in the ingredients list because not everyone has fancy equipment at home, like an espresso machine. I can't pretend it yields the same deliciousness but it works. An espresso machine puts out the richest smoothest cup of java, once you have one you could never go back. I have a Saeco professional version but it's not available anymore. A couple people in my family have this one, it's wonderful. I get to enjoy a cup of coffee from it pretty often.
